The Q-Master Video System addresses the quality assessment
aspect of a video communication channel with the use of perceptual
analysis. The obtained result is a Mean Opinion Score for
Video (VMOS) that represents the end-user perception of quality
in the network or device under test Quality assessment of
video streaming and IPTV/Video on Demand is done with the
VQuad algorithm. The measurement result is a Video Mean Opinion
Score value combined with information such as block distortion,
blurring, edge busyness, jerkiness, PSNR and noise. The Q-Master Video System facilitates the sending of video
test clips either from its Signal Source, internal Video Server,
or any external Streaming Server on the network. The Video
Capture of the received test clip and subsequent analysis,
allows developers and operators to assess the correct functioning
of networks and/or devices such as codecs, transcoders, set
top boxes, gateways, etc.
The Q-Master Video System includes dedicated hardware with
a variety of available network and device interfaces. It facilitates
the sending and receiving of signals over Ethernet VoIP channels,
S-Video, and composite video.
A Windows based user interface provides a simple yet full
featured test environment allowing fast and comprehensive
quality assessment measurements.
Q-Master can be deployed both locally or remotely connecting
by means of LAN for control. All measurement results are stored
and can be reviewed or included in reports at a later date.
Optimum offers perceptual assessment algorithms for speech
and video that are standardized by the ITU for quality measurements
on an end-to end basis for transmission systems that use coding
and decoding.
